Maria Luquin-Cooper
Human Resources Director

Maria’s primary role is to take care of Solecta’s most important assets, our employees. She’s determined in her mission to create a culture of inclusion and empowerment, where diversity is celebrated, and employees feel valued and recognized. As our Human Resources Generalist, she is responsible for all things HR related, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Diversity and Inclusion, as well as Employee Recognition. She partners with the Management team to ensure all employees are set up for success by having the tools and resources to do their jobs as effectively and efficiently as possible. When our employees win, our customers win, and our company succeeds meeting our goals.

Coming to Solecta from Coca-Cola, Maria has a background with many interesting experiences. She earned her BA from UCSD in Economics, with an emphasis on International Relations and Third World Studies. She minored in Spanish Literature and is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Italian.

She has over 25 years of Human Resources experience, most recently at Coca-Cola, where she led the HR Customer Care and Field Operations function at the US Region level for her teams. She has worked in a variety of industries, ranging from Food & Beverage, to the Hospitality Industry, to Mining Engineering, to Residential Mortgages and Loan Servicing.

We find one of Maria’s favorite quotes and life philosophy in President John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” She lives by this philosophy and truly believes that if we all do our part, and work as one team, we can create a great workplace!
